Dance in Dialogue (DID) intends to inspire the making and discussion of new work and to invigorate the contemporary dance culture in Eugene by providing a forum for artists to present innovative works-in-progress in a process-oriented setting with audience feedback. Encouraging experimentation and collaboration to create meaningful exchanges between artists and the broader community, DID includes emerging and seasoned choreographers, cross-disciplinary endeavors, and movement-based processes from art disciplines outside of dance.
DID occurs on a quarterly basis in March, June, September and December. Four to five artists are selected to present at each forum based on an application process that includes a description of the work in process and reasons for wanting to present in this context. A moderator will facilitate a process for audience feedback and dialogue to support the presenting artists and create a dynamic relationship between audience and performer.
