Three dynamic artists exploring powerful and relevant topics. Featuring eight dancers from Western Oregon University Dance program, Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner, is inspired by the poems “The New Colossus” (1883) by Emma Lazarus, and “Let America Be America Again” (1935) by Langston Hughes. Brittani Holland is interested in the personal and political implications of self-indulgence and how that relates to policing the body and identity. Jessica Rose Taylor will explore humor within an artist statement utilizing found objects.
